Gale Virtual Reference Library: Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7. This collection includes reference materials funding by the NYSL and those purchased by PHS. Search by using keyword or phrase.
Health and Wellness Resource Center and Alternative Health Module: Provides instant access to carefully compiled and trusted medical reference materials. Includes nearly 400 health/medical journals, hundreds of pamphlets, over 700 health-related videos from partner Healthology, Inc., and articles from 2,200 general interest publications in addition to a broad collection of Thomson Gale reference titles. Since this database is more consumer-focused, its resources will tend to be more general. Here is a link to a very good overview of Infectious Diseases from The Patient's Guide to Medical Tests, 2002. which is one of the resources available.
Health Reference Center Academic: Multi-source database provides access to the full text of nursing and allied health journals, plus the wide variety of personal health information sources in InfoTrac's award-winning Health Reference Center. Start by doing a Subject Guide Search. You can then narrow your topic by subdivisions.
Opposing Viewpoints: Information on today's hottest social issues. Features include viewpoint articles, full-text magazine and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics, images and podcasts, and links to Websites. Use either keyword or subject guide searching for find articles present differing viewpoints on issues relating to infectious or communicable diseases.
ProQuest: Full-text articles from magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, and educational journals. Use keys to begin your search. Notice at the top your result list the Suggested Topics options. These are alternate topics related to the search terms you have entered. Suggested Topics appear in order by relevance (best suggestions and matches first) and often contain pairs of index terms to help focus results.
Science Online: Presents a broad range of scientific disciplines through extensive definitions, essays, diagrams, biographies, and experiments. You can browse the Infectious Diseases topics or search by using your subject or keywords. Note the different types of resources under each tab in your result list.

Medline Plus: MedlinePlus brings together authoritative information from National Library of Medicine (NLM), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other government agencies and health-related organizations. The link provided takes you directly to its Infectious Diseases page.
Merck Manual on Infectious Diseases: The Merck Manuals are a series of healthcare books for medical professionals and consumers. The content of The Manuals is now available in enhanced online versions as part of The Merck Manuals Online Medical Library. The Online Medical Library is updated periodically with new information, and contains photographs, and audio and video material not present in the print versions. You can scroll through the chapter tables of contents or use the search box on the left side of the window, which searches only the Merck Manuals. (The search box at the top of the page searches the entire website.)

Gale Virtual Reference Library: Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7. This collection includes reference materials funding by the NYSL and those purchased by PHS. Search by using keyword or phrase.
Health and Wellness Resource Center and Alternative Health Module: Provides instant access to carefully compiled and trusted medical reference materials. Includes nearly 400 health/medical journals, hundreds of pamphlets, over 700 health-related videos from partner Healthology, Inc., and articles from 2,200 general interest publications in addition to a broad collection of Thomson Gale reference titles. Since this database is more consumer-focused, its resources will tend to be more general. Health Reference Center Academic: Multi-source database provides access to the full text of nursing and allied health journals, plus the wide variety of personal health information sources in InfoTrac's award-winning Health Reference Center. Start by doing a Subject Guide Search. You can then narrow your topic by subdivisions.
Opposing Viewpoints: Information on today's hottest social issues. Features include viewpoint articles, full-text magazine and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics, images and podcasts, and links to Websites. Use either keyword or subject guide searching for find articles present differing viewpoints on issues relating to infectious or communicable diseases.

Merck Manual on Infectious Diseases: The Merck Manuals are a series of healthcare books for medical professionals and consumers. The content of The Manuals is now available in enhanced online versions as part of The Merck Manuals Online Medical Library. The Online Medical Library is updated periodically with new information, and contains photographs, and audio and video material not present in the print versions. You can scroll through the chapter tables of contents or use the search box on the left side of the window, which searches only the Merck Manuals.
